COLLECTION GALLERY

Collection Research
This collection is inspired by the early career of the designer, Frank Aghuno, who was mistreated by a Lagos stockist who then regretted her action when she realised they shared an ancestry, but the damaged was done and lessons learned.
SEE FINISH - 2022
The execution relies heavily on imagery, recontextualised to explore difficult questions about African history and how it informs the present, to mirror the questions that are asked of Fruché as a label with a global outlook back to the people who must find the answers and implement them.

Main Research
Frank Aghuno expressed his own concerns and narrative in Fruché’s collections often collaborating with other artist in his country to hand paint and create prints to deliver his message. With upcyling fabrics and old bags into new garments, Aghuno voiced out his concern about the health of this planet, pushing us to rethink our responsibility. His designs are often deconstructed, with knotted details, creative cut outs, and irregular shaped hem and necklines.
Study of Colour
Fruché is known for its very bold and energetic colours.

Trend Analysis
Womenswear Forecast S/S24: Creative Confidence will be my chosen trend for my capsule collection. The colour palette expresses individuality and inflict a sense of nostalgia with brights and functional mid-tones which complements the theme of my collection that involves a history of Nigerian people.
